FEAST OF MISERICORDIE

The Parish will organise this year a special week dedicated to the territorial “Misericordia” associations. There will be an exhibition at the SS Crocifisso Church and many other initiatives like for example the presentation of the book on the statutes of the Misericordia associations on the 7th of June at 21 at the Fornaci Parish Church; the conference on 9th of June at 21 at Filecchio with Don Emanuele Morelli on: “Volontariato. Farsi prossimo”; Holy Mass in Barga at Sacro Cuiore Church on Saturday 11 at 17,30 with Archbishop Mons. Giovanni Paolo Benotto

Sant’Antonio da Padova Feast is organised by the small religious community of Montebono in the Barga mountains and here you can visit one of the most precious churches in the area in an enchanting setting on the bank of the Corsonna stream.

Comitato Paesano San Pietro in Campo

San Pietro in Campo renders homage to local farmer traditions and tribute to the most important moment of the farmers “wheat threshing”. An important event dedicated to the precious grain and festive social gathering. The event is promoted by the San Pietro in Campo Village Committee to celebrate the history of the farming culture. Many figures in costume and around 40 vintage farming vehicles will take part. One of the key moments is the traditional parade of vintage farming machinery and figures in costume from the Barga Football Stadium (11 am) to the Church grounds in San Pietro in Campo where the feast will be held. The Wheat Threshing ceremony takes place at 15,30. Food and drink served at lunch and dinner times.


SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI

A highly participated and devoted Franciscan feast. In the Church many religious functions will take place. The purification ritual to be granted forgiveness according to the antique Franciscan tradition. At 17.30 there will be the Misericordia Jubilee celebration with the Archbishop of Pisa Paolo Benotto In the evening at 21 the traditional procession with the statue of the Saint carried through the streets near the church.

In August the Parish of Fornaci, Loppia and Ponte all’Ania gathers its devotees to celebrate the Assumption with Holy Mass at the Romanesque Church in Loppia considered to be one of the most beautiful churches in the area.


SAINT REGOLO IN CATAGNANA

The village celebrates its Patron Saint Regolo. On Saturday evening the traditional procession in the village. While on Sunday morning Holy Mass at the Parish Church accompanied by the Choirs of Catagnana and San Pietro in Campo.
