One of the first Barga gastronomic festivals is the traditional Pegnana Festival organised by the Pegnana Village Committee. The 2017 edition will be held on the last weekend in June and the first in July. The Festival is now at the 32nd edition and here you can discover this enchanting mountain area at the foot of the Apennines and is worth visiting to taste the delicious local food like various pasta dishes, grilled meat, fried dough, special chestnut crepes filled with ricotta cheese and many other specialities. On Friday 30th of June the Pegnana Beer Festival “Pegnana a Tutta Birra a special evening dedicated to the young with food, music and deejay.
The villagers' Festival is based on other traditional foods eg pizza bread, organised by The Villagers' Committee of Mologno. Apart from the food festival, there is also Dancing with an orchestra.

Organised by the Blood Donor and Misericordia Associations of Castelvecchio Pascoli at the ex-primary school at the multi-purpose field. On Friday 7th July evening dedicated to the young; 19.30-24.00 specialities: aperitifs, first courses, hamburgers, hot dogs, beer and music. In the afternoon opening of the renovated children’s playground next to the festival. On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July (19.30 - 24.00) the traditional “Dinner with Orchestra and dancing under the stars” Specialities: tortelli with meat sauce, pork shank and chips, tripe, grilled meat and a wide selection of cakes.
“Rovella” is a small fresh-water fish that is fried with chips. A local version of the Scottish “fish & chips”.
A pleasant way to spend a relaxing evening in Barga in a festive atmosphere during the weekly “Market under the stars” Organised by ASD Sacro Cuore with the support of Angelini butchers the traditional “Steak under the Stars” at Pista Onesti with the collaboration of Bar Onesti.
The Barga-Scotland connection has been celebrated in this way for years. Many Barga people made their fortune in Scotland by opening up or running fish & chip restaurants or take-aways and thanks to this dish so strongly connected to Barga emigration, A.S Barga organise this Festival every year. Succulent Fish & Chips cooked and served according to the original recipe. Also gluten-free fish and chips. During this rich programme some evenings, once a week, will be organised as fund-raising evenings for local charity associations.
The idea was realised last year by two young local boys and proposes the trend of the moment, with street food as protagonist of many events and festivals. In Barga the appointment is in the central Piazza Pascoli from morning until evening. There will be around fifteen “Food trucks”, characteristic and decorated vehicles, from the Ape to the caravan in revised versions, that will propose street food of different Italian regions, from the Ascoli olives of the Marche, to the fusion cuisine of Piemonte and Balcana, Dutch street dishes and Romagnola “piadina” or fried “gnocco”, and last but not least the Florentine Lampredotto and more... All under the direction of the ProLoco and ArtCom Barga.
The Pork Festival organised by the San Pietro in Campo Committee is one of the most famous Festivals in the area: a traditional appointment that this year has reached its 37th edition. As always the menu is mainly based on pork products: genuine local products with dishes based on local pork. The evenings end with dancing under the stars. On the 22rd August a special Fish & Chips evening under the supervision of some components of Italian-Scottish families, followed by dancing accompanied by orchestra.

Sport, music, traditions but above all excellent cuisine: this is the official programme of the 2017 edition of the Polenta and Fowl Festival promoted by the Parish of Fornaci di Barga, Loppia and Ponte all’Ania and the Filecchio Polenta Association. Two weekends dedicated to Baveria - this is what Filecchio proposes for the “October Beer Festival” a Bavarian festival that will animate the first Fridays and Saturdays of the month of October with thematic gastronomical proposals, excellent beer and live concerts every evening. The event is organised by the local football team Filecchio Fratres.
