The 2017 edition of the well-known Barga Jazz Festival will be completely inedited due to the economic difficulties caused by the drastic State cuts that are putting a lot of musical festivals at risk just like the small reality of Barga despite its international importance. This year, for the first time the international Jazz orchestra arrangement and composition competition will not take place.
There will be however a series of high quality concerts that will characterise this edition and will allow the festival to continue from 18th to 26th August.
There will be also BargaINJazz, live music in the streets of the historical centre of Barga with the presence of many bands in strategic points to create a musical itinerary. It is one of the most popular traditional events. In many corners of the antique castle it is possible to take part in many mini-concerts dedicated to Jazz during the day. The appointment is for 20th August from 17.
While on Saturday 26th August special homage to Frank Zappa at the Theatre “dei Differenti” with Barga Jazz Ensemble.
